About the Author – Efuet Tazi

Efuet Tazi is a passionate storyteller whose works draw deeply from African traditions, family legacies, and timeless human struggles. With a gift for blending history, folklore, and memory, he brings to life stories that celebrate resilience, identity, and the courage to face adversity.

His writing often delves into vivid depictions of witchcraft, sorcellerie, and the mystical interplay of black and white African magic — reflecting the lived realities and mysteries woven into African culture.

From a young age, Efuet’s imagination was ignited by his grandmother’s wisdom. At just five years old, when asked what he wanted to become, his innocent dream was: “When I grow up, I want to travel around the world and buy you and the family all kinds of things — especially a pipe for you.” That spark became the seed of a storyteller’s journey.

At twenty-four, he began his international adventure — traveling first to Hong Kong, then mainland China, where he spent years studying, working, and embracing Asian cultures. These experiences broadened his worldview and deepened his storytelling voice as a global citizen.

Today, living in the United States with his family, Tazi continues to craft stories that blend history, culture, and emotion. A devoted husband, father, and lifelong learner, he balances academic pursuits and creative expression with unshakable dedication.

Through his books, he strives not just to entertain, but to preserve culture, inspire reflection, and encourage readers to stay rooted while daring to dream. His latest work, “My Grandmom is a Hero”, stands as a loving tribute to the woman whose strength, mystery, and grace shaped his life and art.
